Self-Heating Food & Beverage Container

Today we received news about a self-heating food & beverage container released by Vertigo. This well designed gadget will heat your dinner or drink in just a few minutes while you’re away from home. Don’t worry, the casing will not melt down as it’s resistant to temperatures of up to 302 degrees.

One handy feature of Vertigo’s little helper is the LCD display which will keep you posted on the status of your food. One thing to consider may be leaving it at home when you are on your way to the airport – no need to get locked up by airport security who might identify this futuristic device as a bomb!

Fujitsu releases color eBook

While black-white eBooks have been around for a while, Fujitsu recently announced the first color eBook. The “FLEPia” features a color e-paper device without the use of backlight. As of now, the official release date is set to the 20th of April 2009.

The good news is that it will run for about 40 hours without any recharge – certainly enough time to find another power plug. More specifically, the FLEPia features an 8” display running at 768x1024. As for supported files the user will have the choice between Microsoft Office and WindowsCE files. Moreover, this gadget comes with Bluetooth support which should make it easier to download files.

With a weight of only 385g and a thickness of merely 12mm it should be easy to carry around during the day out. In order to store your E-Books you’ll have to insert a SD card of up to 4 GB. Last but not least, for those of you who wish not to use Bluetooth an USB slot has been included.

G-Monster 1 TB SSD Drive

Despite their superior technology SSD drives remain very uncommon, primarily due to their exorbitant GB price. For those who have got a considerable amount of spare cash the new G-Monster PhotoFast SSD drive may be an interesting option: This PCIe SSD features a capacity of 1 GB.

Unlike ‘cheap’ SLC drives this one offers all the performance one can imagine, we’re taking about reading rates around 750 MB/s and writing rates of 700 MB/s. No price has yet been announced, but we all know it’s not going to be cheap by any means. According to official sources the G-Monster PhotoFast will be launched at some point in April.

The first organizer with a flexible OLED display?

Not much time has passed since we have first heard of flexible OLED displays, yet Hermes already announced the development of an organizer featuring an OLED display. That’s right, you will be able to bend your organizer – without this little gadget braking that is. So what can we expect?

The organizer is being designed by Alexandre Fourn and supposedly will fold into a smaller unit when required. Sounds pretty handy doesn’t it? Likewise, this futuristic organizer will feature Internet over WLAN as well as a set of speakers.

Further specs haven’t been made public yet, but hopefully it won’t take too long until this cool gadget will hit the market!

Samsung introducing two new netbooks

Once again it’s time for another set of netbooks to enter the market. This time Samsungs presents its new N110 & N120. Both netbooks feature the Intel N270 Atom processor (1,6 Ghz Single Core), 1 GB RAM, a 10,1” screen and depending on your setup either a 80/160GB harddrive or a SSD solution with 16 GB capacity.

Both are fairly portable weighing in at only 2 pounds. While these specs sound fairly standard, the two netbooks offer outstanding battery life: The N110 will keep going for 9,5 hours and the N120 even for 10,5 hours. Both present the usual set of connectivity as well as an above average speaker system – be warned though, it’s still a netbook and not a 5.1 surround system.
