While black-white eBooks have been around for a while, Fujitsu recently announced the first color eBook. The “FLEPia” features a color e-paper device without the use of backlight. As of now, the official release date is set to the 20th of April 2009.The good news is that it will run for about 40 hours without any recharge – certainly enough time to find another power plug. More specifically, the FLEPia features an 8” display running at 768x1024. As for supported files the user will have the choice between Microsoft Office and WindowsCE files. Moreover, this gadget comes with Bluetooth support which should make it easier to download files.
With a weight of only 385g and a thickness of merely 12mm it should be easy to carry around during the day out. In order to store your E-Books you’ll have to insert a SD card of up to 4 GB. Last but not least, for those of you who wish not to use Bluetooth an USB slot has been included.
